Tipsy Scoop Brand Experience Murals
Baltimore, MD & Philadelphia, PA

Ground Zero Studio partnered with Tipsy Scoop, an alcohol-infused ice cream brand, to create custom mural experiences for the grand openings of their Baltimore and Philadelphia locations.
Designed as highly visible customer engagement pieces, the murals were created to strengthen brand recognition, encourage social sharing, and provide visitors with memorable photo opportunities that connected each location to its surrounding city.
By combining local culture, custom illustration, and brand storytelling, the murals became visual destinations that extended the customer experience beyond the product itself.

The Challenge
As Tipsy Scoop expanded into new markets, the company wanted each location to feel connected to its city while maintaining a strong and recognizable brand identity.
The challenge was to create murals that celebrated the unique character of Baltimore and Philadelphia while incorporating the company's products, personality, and playful approach to alcohol-infused desserts.
Each mural needed to function as both a visual centerpiece and an interactive backdrop that encouraged customers to engage with the brand and share their experience on social media.

Discovery and Creative Development
The opportunity originated through a referral from Daylight Arts, which connected Ground Zero Studio with Tipsy Scoop during the launch of its Baltimore location.
Working closely with the client, Ground Zero Studio facilitated creative discussions to better understand the company's goals, product offerings, and desired customer experience. Multiple design concepts were developed and presented, allowing the team to refine the direction through collaborative feedback sessions.
A key component of the design process was identifying iconic elements unique to each city while incorporating Tipsy Scoop's signature products and branding.
Custom illustrations were developed using references to local culture, recognizable landmarks, and flavors that reflected each market's identity.

Design Solution
Baltimore Location
The Baltimore mural was designed around a playful illustration of a Maryland crab perched atop a serving of alcohol-infused soft serve ice cream presented in a martini glass.
The artwork incorporated local references, including Baltimore's deep connection to crabs and seafood culture, while highlighting Tipsy Scoop's signature Sagamore Orange Crushsicle flavor. The result was a vibrant and memorable visual that blended local pride with the brand's unique product offerings.

Philadelphia Location
For the Philadelphia location, the mural featured three illustrated hands raising ice cream creations in a celebratory toast.
The composition incorporated iconic Philadelphia imagery, including references to the LOVE sculpture, Liberty Bell, and local food culture. The artwork was designed to create a strong connection between the Tipsy Scoop brand and the energy of the city while maintaining a playful and welcoming atmosphere.

Installation and Execution
Both murals were completed during active retail buildouts, requiring close coordination with contractors, installers, and other trades working simultaneously within the space.
Despite the fast-paced environment and compressed timelines associated with grand opening schedules, each mural was completed within three days and installed in time for the launch of each location.
The projects demonstrate Ground Zero Studio's ability to work efficiently within commercial environments while delivering high-quality, customer-facing artwork.

Following the successful completion of the Baltimore mural, Tipsy Scoop commissioned Ground Zero Studio to create a second mural for its Philadelphia expansion, further demonstrating the value of integrating public-facing artwork into the customer experience.
